Ukraine Day 1208: LIVE UPDATES BELOW. Two civilians were wounded in Russia-backed shelling of Maryinka tonight. Reports were received that 7-8 Ukrainian border guards suffered concussions in yesterday’s attack on Sartana.

2 Civilians Injured in Russia-Backed Shelling of Maryinka; 7 Border Guards Injured Yesterday

At about midnight this evening Russia-backed forces fired on residential areas of Maryinka, wounded a man and woman, Liga.net reported, citing the Joint Center for Coordination and Control. They were taken to the hospital in Krakhovo.

Russia-backed militants attacked 32 times during the day, but with less intensity than previous days, the ATO reported. There were no losses during the day, but in the previous reporting period one Ukrainian soldier was killed and six were wounded as we reported; also new information was provided that 7 border guards were also injured yesterday in the attack on Sartana  we reported.
Another report said that 8 border guards suffered concussions.

Translation: #accident 8 border guards of the Donetsk Border Service sustained concussions during shelling of Sartana by militants.

The Ukrainian military uploaded a video today of the aftermath of the shelling of Sartana, Information Resistance reported.

Oleksandr Kurchi, village leader said the population of Sartana is 11,000, and now about 2,000 people are without gas supply due to the shelling. Repair crews were at work. In addition to the commandant’s building, local agricultural and business buildings were damaged.
The ATO reported at 18:00 that on the Maritime line, militants fired 120-mm mortars and grenade-launchers at Lebedinskoye and Vodyanoye. Small arms and grenade-launchers were fired repeatedly at Ukrainian positions by Chermalyk, Shirokino, Pavlopol, Talakovka, Novotroitskoye, Starognatovka, Slavnoye and Maryinka.An anti-tank system was also fired on Chermalyk and an armed BMP was also used to attack Maryinka. An anti-aircraft system was fired on Novomikhailovka.
On the Donetsk line, Avdeyevka fell most under attack and Verknyetoretskoye, Peski, Opytnoye were also attacked with grenade-launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. Near Luganskoye, an armed BMP and infantry weapons were fired as well as at the Svetlodarsk Bulge.
On the Lugansk line, the situation was more stable than in recent days but there was some firing of 82-mm and 120-mm mortar-launchers near Katerinovka and 82-mm mortars were also fired on Novoaleksandrovka.

Liga.net reported that the Ukrainian side of the JCCC was concerned about Russian disinformation reports spread in the last few days that Ukrainian military were preparing a “false flag” shelling of Avdeyevka. They claimed Ukrainian and foreign TV crews were coming to report the fake attack.
