Ukraine Day 1223: LIVE UPDATES BELOW. One Ukrainian soldier died of a mine explosion and two were WIA today; two civilians were injured.

On First Day of Harvest Cease-Fire, 2 Ukrainian Soldiers KIA, 2 WIA; 1 Russia-Backed Fighter KIA, 1 WIA

Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed in attacks by Russia-backed forces on the first day of the harvest ceasefire; in addition, one soldier was wounded and another was concussed, Liga.net reported, citing the ATO [Anti-Terrorist Operation]
The ceasefire had earlier been agreed by the Trilateral Group to go into effect today to enable civilians to gather crops.
On the Donetsk line, militants fired on Avdeyevka with heavy machine guns and small arms; they also used anti-tank grenades on Verkhnyetoretskoye.
On the Lugansk line, they fired on Katerinovka with 120-mm mortar-launchers and used grenade-launchers on Ukrainian positions in Krymskoye. They also fired small arms on Troitskoye.

Semen Kabakaev, coordinator of the group Stop Terror in Kiev, reported that on the Lugansk line, Ukrainian soldiers took 4 separatists captive; one was a Russian citizen and 3 were locals. In addition, they reported one Russian fighter and one local militant died in battle. 

The OSCE monitors reported yet another instance of firing near their team.
