Russia-backed forces attacked Ukrainian positions 30 times, Ukrainska Pravda reported, citing the ATO evening dispatch.

One Ukrainian soldier was killed and one was wounded.
On the Donetsk line, militants attacked the Avdeyevka industrial zone with grenade-launchers, mortar-launchers, anti-aircraft systems and small arms. Ukrainian forces returned fire.
In the evening, militants fired from a BMP and used grenade-launchers to attack the approaches to Zaytsevo. At least 46 rounds were fired at the Butovka Mine position.
On the Lugansk line, 120-mm mortars were fired near Krymskoye and mortars were also fired on Ukrainian positions at Novoaleksandrovka and Stanitsa Luganskaya.

On the Maritime line, militants attacked Vodyanoye and Shirokino with 82-mm mortars.

The Ukrainian side of the Joint Centre for Coordination and Control (JCCC) reported that on August 20, Russia-backed militants used anti-tank grenades and small arms as well as an RPG-7 to fire on residential areas of Maryinka. There were no injuries. School no. 2 on Druzhby Street was damaged as were two buildings on Geroyev Chernobylya St.
