Nine protesters were detained and 14 officers were injured in a violent protest by nationalist and populist groups at the Ukrainian parliament. One soldier was wounded at the front.
Meanwhile the level of fighting in the east has dropped somewhat, and the leader of the Lugansk separatists has said he is prepared to send negotiators to talk to Nadiya Savchenko.
The Rada has passed a bill allowing President Poroshenko’s ally Yuriy Lutsenko to be nominated for the post of Prosecutor General despite lacking a law degree. In addition, Ihor Kononenko, against whom there are widespread accusations of corruption, has been reinstated as the deputy chairman of Poroshenko’s political party.
